Saputara Monsoon Diaries

Saputara is a beautiful hill-station situated in the Dang District of Gujarat. At an altitude of 1050M from sea level, Saputara is located in the Sahyadri mountain ranges. Surrounded by lush green forests, hills, rivers, waterfalls, and lakes make this place an amazing tourism destination. People from all over India especially Adventure lovers visit this place for experiencing the beauty of Saputara. In Monsoon Time, Saputara turned into heaven because drizzling and greenery make it enchanting. Because its geographical location is near to Maharashtra Border, you can experience both cultures here.

So, this monsoon, we planned to visit Saputara with my friend.

We took a Bus from Ahmedabad Central Bus Stand at 23:00 and reached Saputara by morning 09:00 via Vadodara, Surat and Bardoli.

In Saputara, drizzling rain with lovely weather welcomed us. My first impression was like Why I visited paradise of Saputara this late.

After Freshen up, we moved out for exploring this place.

Rain stopped, which makes weather more amazing. Our First Attraction was Saputara Tribal Museum.

Saputara Tribal Museum: Also known as Saputara Museum situated in the center of the town. It showcases the culture and lifestyle of tribal community of Dang district. Clothes, ornaments, utensils, tools, models of the house, weapons, and effigies of early man are preserved in the museum.

After Experiencing Culture, now time for water activities. We moved to Saputara Lake.

Saputara Lake:  Surrounded by gardens, Saputara Lake is a man- made lake famous for boating. Varieties of boats are available here. It is one of the most famous tourist attraction of Saputara.

After Culture and Water Activities, we turned towards gardens.

Lake Garden: A beautiful garden located on the bank of Saputara Lake, was like a mini-botanical garden. Rare varieties of flowers and plants are available to see.

All these diverse activities, make my day amazing But the real places are still to explore. We planned to climbed Governor’s Hill

Traditional House in Dang Forest

Governor’s Hill: It is one of the highest peaks of Saputara. It is adjacent to another hill which is known as sunset point. One of the best things is between these two mountains there is cable car from where you can experiencing the view of the town and forest ranges. Governor’s Hill nowadays known as a paradise for Adventurers. Tourists from all over region visit this place for adventure activities.

After enjoying activities at Governor’s Hill. We planned to left Saputara. I know, lots of things were still remaining to explore but due to lack of time and spirit in me to visit Gira Waterfall. So Take Bus and left for the same.

Gira Waterfall: Amazingly beautiful around the rainy season, these waterfalls are one of the most attracting places of Dang Forest. Ambica river falls down here which makes the beauty of nature more attractive. Gira waterfall is in Waghai, which is 50 km from Saputara on Surat Road.

Sun was about to set and rain was already started. We took life from local vehicle to Bardoli and from Bardoli we got a bus which drops us in Ahmedabad.

Other Places this I missed but should visit in Saputara are Saptshingi Devi Temple, Nageshwar Mahadev Tempe, Honey Bees Centre, Rose Garden, Purna Sanctuary etc
