I, Dr. Ankit Agrawal, hold a Doctorate in Tourism Management, with research focusing on the Benchmarking Potential of Village Tourism in India. Additionally, I have completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship from ICSSR, examining the Scope of Tourist Village Development in the Gwalior-Chambal Division through Rural Tourism Benchmarking Index. My academic journey includes a Postgraduate degree in International Tourism Business from the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (Ministry of Tourism, Government of India), along with UGC NET qualification in Tourism Management.
After completing my master’s, I embarked on a blogging journey to share my perspectives and insights drawn from my research. My published research papers and case studies on travel and tourism have been featured in SCOPUS, UGC CARE, and peer-reviewed journals. I thrive on exploring new destinations, experiencing innovative concepts—whether products or emerging potential—and connecting with people, promoting them through the lens of my pen and camera. I relish the challenge of transforming overlooked places into thriving tourist destinations, with Gaushala Tourism better known as Kamdhenu Darshan or Cow Tourism being a notable example in recent years.
I am closely associated with Paryatan Vikas Welfare Society (Paryatan Vikas Manch), actively working towards Cultural Sustainability. Since 2022, I have been leading the Kamdhenu Paryatan initiative, promoting Cow Tourism (Gaushala Tourism) and organizing Rural Tourism Festivals in Gaushalas.
Additionally, I have developed numerous Heritage Walks at various destinations, offering immersive cultural experiences. You can read about these initiatives and explorations in my blogs.
The book Deshaj Darshan, published by Akhil Bharatiya Sahitya Parishad in 2024, highlights lesser-known indigenous tourism and cultural products of the Gwalior-Chambal region. Edited by Dr. Ankit Agrawal, it explores unique concepts that enrich the region’s heritage.
